I Am The DR. of Doo-Wop
Hello from 95.9 W.A.T.D FM radio in Marshfield , MA and owner of Blue Moon Promotions & Productions. My passion and fascination of 1st generation Rock & Roll Music & Classic cars began many years ago. Born and raised in Rhode Island during the 50's & 60's and having an older sister and brother I was hooked on Rock & Roll music and hot rod cars at a very young age. Back then I can remember my sister's boyfriend always having a cool car, always taking me along with them to Jolly Charlie's, The Pink Elephant, or the beach listening to Elvis, Cadillacs, and plenty of what became known as Doo-Wop music on his under dash record player, he never kept a car for to long, always trading or buying something different all the time, convertible Chevy's , Retractable Fords, Dual Quad Cady's?. ect.
Now as for my older brother, he is a whole different story, this guy has had more cars than anyone I have ever known to date. He was into all the early muscle cars... 58-348 Chevy, 62-409 Chevy, 64 - 421 Pontiac Bonneville..ect , and is still very active in this hobby today.
As for myself over these many years I have owned, traded, or sold more classic cars than space would allow for me to list them all here, my very first car was a beautiful 1964 Chevy Impala 283 2 DR, (wish I still had that car) that was purchased for the total of, are you ready for this $200....but following my brother's & brother-in -law's footsteps, I didn't keep it too long. The one that has remained in my collection for nearly 30 years is what I call my Pride & Joy a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS factory Big Block 396 fully restored now over 20years. I can't believe since I started driving back when gasoline was.28.9 a gallon and they still made leaded high test gasoline (Sunoco 260 at .39 per gallon) and you could buy a decent car for about $500 how much times have changed, car prices, gasoline prices ect
In 2009 I had the great pleasure to co-host The Chop Shop's 2nd Annual Open House Event, what a beautiful day it was with so many beautiful vehicles on display and what a professional shop they have in Woburn ,MA .. I am celebrating my 34th year in the radio industry and hosting many Cruiz Nights and Car Shows here in New England, I have attended many shows out of the New England area such as The First Dream Cruise Day in Daytona Beach, Florida 2008 and have been asked by invitation to return in 2009, so whenever you have the time and really want to enjoy a true Rock & Roll show with a touch of classic car trivia on theair, tune me in at 95.9 W.A.T.D. FM and if your out of the range of our signal log on to www.959watd.com ..........
When I not hosting a Cruiz Night or Car Show, and not at the radio station or working in my studio, you will probably find me outCruizi' around in my Pride & Joy on a beautiful day , or maybe even in a garage helping one of my car crazy friends completing one oftheir latest creations.
